Terms of service

BookGuard is a free, independent book-content information tool published by Derek Dardis. By using the BookGuard website or plugin, you acknowledge the following terms.

Informational guidance

BookGuard offers research-assisted, spoiler-free summaries and content suitability guidance. Ratings are judgments based on available evidence, not guarantees that a book is suitable for any individual. Caregivers and readers remain responsible for their reading decisions.

Accuracy and availability

Book information, series status, and content warnings may be incomplete or change over time. Some sources may be inaccessible. BookGuard should identify uncertainty, but errors can occur. Availability depends on ChatGPT and other third-party services.

Third-party services

Use of the plugin is also subject to applicable ChatGPT terms. This website is hosted by GitHub Pages; support issues are handled through GitHub and subject to GitHub’s terms. The optional book-catalog lookup service is hosted on Cloudflare Workers and uses Open Library for public bibliographic records. Use of those services is subject to their respective terms and availability. BookGuard is not affiliated with OpenAI or the authors and publishers of reviewed books.

Free access

BookGuard does not charge fees or sell products through this website. Any fees for using ChatGPT are governed by the platform, not BookGuard.

Changes
